- Marketing and attribution information: campaign, source, medium, referral, and similar information used to understand how people find and use Homeowner Hub.
We do not ask you to provide Social Security numbers, payment card numbers, medical information, or other highly sensitive personal information through our general project request form.
2. How We Collect Information
We collect information directly from you when you submit forms, communicate with us, participate in a consultation, request a contractor introduction, or otherwise use the Services. We may also receive information from contractors, service providers, analytics providers, referral sources, and other parties involved in providing or improving the Services.
3. How We Use Personal Information
We may use personal information to:
- review and respond to your project request;
- provide homeowner concierge, project-planning, matching, scheduling, quote-review, and related services;
- communicate with you by phone, text message, email, or other channels consistent with your consent and applicable law;
- identify and evaluate contractors that may fit your project;
- facilitate introductions, appointments, and follow-up with contractors you ask us to connect you with;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services;
- measure marketing performance and understand how users interact with our website;
- prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- maintain records of consent, opt-out requests, transactions, and communications; and
- comply with legal obligations, enforce our agreements, and protect our rights and the rights of others.
4. Contractor Matching and Compensation
Homeowner Hub may introduce homeowners to independent contractors. Contractors may compensate Homeowner Hub in connection with leads, appointments, referrals, signed projects, completed sales, or revenue generated from projects. Compensation arrangements may vary by contractor and project.
When you request or approve an introduction, we may disclose your contact information, project information, and related details to the contractor so the contractor can evaluate and respond to your request. Homeowner Hub does not transfer its own text-message consent to a contractor. Contractor-specific automated, prerecorded, or artificial-voice marketing may require separate consent, and we may ask you for that consent at the time of an introduction where appropriate.
5. How We Disclose Personal Information
We may disclose personal information to:
- Contractors and service professionals when you request or approve an introduction or when disclosure is otherwise necessary to provide the matching service you requested.
- Service providers that help us host the website, manage forms and CRM records, send email or text messages, analyze site usage, secure systems, and operate the Services.
- Professional advisers such as attorneys, accountants, insurers, and consultants where reasonably necessary.
- Government authorities or other parties when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, property, or security.
- Transaction counterparties in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law.
- Other parties with your direction or consent.
6. Text Messaging Privacy
We do not sell or disclose text-messaging opt-in records or consent to third parties for their own marketing. We may share information with service providers that help us deliver messages. We may also disclose your telephone number and project information to a contractor when you expressly request or approve an introduction, but that disclosure does not transfer Homeowner Hub's SMS consent to that contractor.
You can revoke consent to Homeowner Hub marketing texts at any time by replying STOP. You may reply HELP for help. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply.
7. Commercial Email
Marketing emails from Homeowner Hub will include a method to unsubscribe. We will honor valid unsubscribe requests as required by applicable law. Transactional or service-related messages may still be sent when necessary to provide a service you requested or maintain an ongoing relationship.
8. Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies
We and our service providers may use cookies, logs, pixels, analytics tools, and similar technologies to operate the website, understand traffic and usage, improve performance, prevent abuse, and measure marketing. The specific technologies we use may change over time as the Services evolve.
9. Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising
Homeowner Hub does not operate as a stand-alone data broker and does not sell personal information as a general-purpose data product. We may, however, receive compensation from contractors when we facilitate homeowner introductions, appointments, or completed projects. Some state privacy laws define "sale," "sharing," or targeted advertising broadly enough that certain disclosures may be treated differently depending on the facts and applicable law.
Where applicable law gives you a right to opt out of a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising, you may submit a request by emailing privacy@homeownerhub.org. We will evaluate and honor qualifying requests as required by applicable law.
10. State Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live and whether a particular state privacy law applies to Homeowner Hub, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of certain personal information; to opt out of certain sales, sharing, or targeted advertising; to limit certain uses of sensitive information; and to appeal certain decisions regarding a privacy request.
To submit a privacy request, email privacy@homeownerhub.org. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law, subject to verification requirements. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
11. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain business and project records, comply with legal and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect against fraud or abuse. Consent, opt-out, communication, and transaction records may be retained for longer periods when reasonably necessary to demonstrate legal compliance.
12. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Children
The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 through the Services.
14. Third-Party Services
The Services may link to or interact with websites, services, and contractors that we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to their independent activities.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. If required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain additional consent.
